The Drowning Man
Mais uma saída dos arquivos, tirada em 2005. Estava a fotografar os logradouros da ribeira do Porto, estes situam-se a 2 metros abaixo do nível da rua, quase na margem do rio. Não é de todo o melhor local para andar sozinha a fotografar ou a fazer seja o que for. Subitamente fui surpreendida com a presença deste senhor, que sorrateiramente apareceu. Um pouco assustada, só tive o instinto de tirar a fotografia primeiro e fugir depois. Calhou bem.
Foi fotografada em filme com uma Canon FT QL.

Here’s another one from the vaults, I shot it in 2005. I was photographing the public sinks at Porto riverside, they are placed about 2 meters below the street level, almost at the river water level. It’s not the best place to be wandering about with a camera all alone. Sudently I was surprised by this man that sneaked up on me. It shook me up a bit and I only had the instinct to snap the picture first and get the hell out of there after. I’m glad I did.
It was shot with an old film Canon FT QL.

Mais uma vez a baixa do Porto está em destaque aqui no blog. Acredito que esta cidade é a minha musa inspiradora e que seria difícil de captar este ambiente que se faz sentir na baixa noutro lado qualquer do mundo.
Ontem andei outra vez pela baixa com a máquina no saco e derrotada pelo calor e exaustão não tirei nenhuma fotografia apesar do meu instinto me estar constantemente a dizer para sacar a máquina para fora. Fica para outra vez.

Once again, Porto’s downtown features this blog. I believe that this city is my muse and that it would be hard to capture this kind of atmosphere anywhere else in the world.
Yesterday, I wandered once again through those streets with my camera in the bag, but defeated by the heat and exhaustion I didn’t shoot anything even though my instinct was begging me to. Next time, I guess.
